Outdoor Project Space
Outdoor Project Space
Problem
Authentic, relevant, and complex learning that aims to address and solve real problems requires spaces for kids to ideate, collaborate, build, create, and share. Project-based learning is one avenue schools are taking to align pedagogy to their vision for 21st-century thriving learners. Conventional schools haven’t tended to devote spaces or resources to facilitate these experiences either inside or outside the building.
Solution
While changing interior spaces can make a big difference in shifting pedagogies, the outdoors can also be seen as a destination for all stages of executing a successful project. Building simple structures that allow for groups to convene, share ideas, and co-create together makes outdoor project spaces a utilized asset.
