St. Geneviève Catholic School is an innovative, human-centered K–8 campus, planned and developed in close partnership with the Algonquin and Lakeshore Catholic District School Board (ALCDSB) to support future-ready teaching and learning. Organized around an interconnected Learning Community model, the school serves students through 20 Learning Studios and 10 Learning Commons that blur the boundary between focused instruction and shared inquiry, allowing learning to move fluidly throughout the day. With four childcare rooms adding 73 licensed childcare spaces and three EarlyON Child and Family Centre rooms, the campus also strengthens its role as a welcoming hub for children, families, and community life.

From the earliest planning decisions, the environment was treated as a tool for learning, shaped by founding principal Laurie Day’s vision and Ontario’s Four Frames of Kindergarten Learning. Daylight, warm materials, and biophilic touches create a calm, uplifting atmosphere, while flexible zones support a full range of learning experiences, from quiet reflection to hands-on making and whole-community gatherings. Movable elements and varied settings help educators and students reconfigure the learning landscape in real time, balancing independence, collaboration, and well-being. Following opening day, Fielding International continues as a learning design partner, supporting leaders and educators as they activate the space with shared norms, routines, and project-based practices so the building continually reinforces the learning it was designed to enable.
