Allyza Danica Valino is an architect focused on creating spaces that promote social change. As an emerging professional, Allyza believes that designs should be informed and determined by community participation in tandem with technical and architectural knowledge. Spaces should be inclusive and meaningful to its stakeholders, and that cannot be achieved without genuine engagement and relationships. As a young woman of color with a passion for social change and equity, Allyza intends to impact and diversify the field of architecture and beyond by empowering others through agency and design.

At Fielding, Allyza has assisted in both architectural and master planning projects. Her architectural work includes multiple districts in Michigan such as Portage and Ann Arbor Public Schools. She has also assisted in conceptual and master planning work across the United States, Saudi Arabia, Tanzania, and within private and international school sectors. Allyza has brought a sense of inclusive and thoughtful design work across all the projects she is involved in.

Allyza holds a Bachelor of Science in Architecture and a Master of Architecture from Lawrence Technological University. In addition to her passion for inclusive and socially responsive architecture, Allyza continues exploring and learning about her other interests, including photography, graphic design, music, urban design, and master planning.

In 2023, she explored an architectural thesis focused on the effects of gentrification and displacement, and how the profession of architecture can alleviate the pressures of revitalization on underrepresented communities. That same year, Allyza volunteered with a non-profit, the International Design Clinic, where she designed and constructed the Penguin Play and Learn Centre in Port Elizabeth, South Africa, which earned her a spot on the nonprofit’s board of directors the following year. She is also an adjunct professor at Lawrence Technological University, where she teaches students about the engagement process within socially-responsive design. In 2024, her work at the IDC, Fielding International, and beyond earned her the Detroit AIA Associate Award, for her contributions to the field of architecture, and aims to continue her impact on social architecture throughout her career.
