Ellen believes the experience of the user greatly depends on architecture with strong design principles and an aesthetic concept that is well unified with the activity and movement within a space.”

Ellen is a Senior Designer with Fielding International. She collaborates with team members to realize cohesive designs and coordinates with architecture partners, consultants, and client stakeholders to ensure that the project vision is achieved. Ellen aspires to design environments that facilitate community interaction among all stakeholders within a school community. She believes a student’s individual experience within a learning environment is positively influenced by an engaging visual aesthetic that is unified with the curricular activity and physical movement within the space. At Fielding, Ellen relishes being able to collaborate with educators to bring the educational vision of a community into architectural reality.

Ellen works at all stages of the design process from discovery, vision/master planning and schematic design, to design development, bid documents and construction administration.

When she is not at work, Ellen enjoys hiking, swimming, board games, and working on personal home improvement projects. She lives in Rochester, NY with her husband, Greg, their two children Abel and Auggie, and their dog.

The space truly allows our students to think, create, present, and flourish... You have helped us develop a model of innovative instruction, and use space to amplify learning. This could not have happened without Ellen Woodsbie and the Fielding International Team.”
