Johnny Edwards is Superintendent of Portage Public Schools in Michigan, one of the state’s largest and highest-performing districts. He assumed this role in July 2025 after serving as Assistant Superintendent of Operations, where he oversaw district finances, facilities, and the design and construction of two new elementary schools funded by a $176 million bond. With a leadership approach grounded in community partnership and instructional excellence, Edwards prioritizes learner agency, inclusive practices, and continuous improvement. He earned his Bachelor’s degree and Master of Arts in K-12 Educational Administration from Michigan State University.
